Two longtime friends died following a motorcycle accident in Astoria on Saturday.

Fernandez, who was in control of the bike, clipped the SUV as he was trying to pass it.

The riders were thrown from the bike and died on the scene.

Fernandez and Manthorne grew up together but were not romantically involved, according to the Daily News.
