The police are searching for a man who allegedly stole a wallet from a table at a bar/restaurant in Astoria and then used the victim’s debit card to try and take money out at a nearby bank.
The police said that the perpetrator took the wallet from a table in front of Marketa, located at 37-17 30th Avenue, at 12:40 am on Wednesday, August 20.
The suspect then took the 27-year-old victim’s Citibank debit card and attempted to make a withdrawal at an ATM inside Investors Bank located at 28-46 Steinway Street.
A photo of the suspect was taken by a surveillance camera.
