Police are looking for a man who walked onto a Long Island City parking lot last week and drove off with a stolen vehicle.
The suspect allegedly entered a parking lot located at 41-10 Crescent St. at around 5:30 p.m. on March 29 and got inside a white 2017 Kia sedan that had keys in the ignition. The alleged thief then went to drive the vehicle off the lot, before an employee attempted to stop him by jumping on the hood.
The employee rode a short distance before being thrown off the vehicle, causing a minor leg injury. EMS responded but the victim declined medical attention at the scene.
The alleged thief drove off the lot in an unknown direction. The car, which has a license plate of UGD782, has an estimated value of $21,000.
The police released video footage of the suspect taken from the parking lot.
