Police arrested a 27-year-old man Tuesday wanted for a fatal shooting that took place near the Queensbridge Houses development in Long Island City last month.

Officers cuffed Darrius Saunders, of the Bronx, yesterday on murder and criminal possession of a weapon charges at 1 p.m.

Saunders and an accomplice allegedly ambushed 33-year-old Kayron Wilson as he sat in a car with a female companion at the corner of 12th Street and 40th Avenue on May 10.

The two men fired multiple shots at Wilson, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, police said.

He was shot in the chest, while the female driver was unharmed. She drove off and flagged down officers from the 114th Precinct a few blocks over.

Wilson, who was a resident off Queensbridge, was rushed to Cornell Hospital, but couldn’t be saved.

He leaves behind a 10-year-old daughter, according to the New York Daily News.

Saunders had been out of prison for less than a year when he allegedly shot and killed Wilson.

He was conditionally released on parole last July after serving more than six years for attempted robbery, the Daily News reported.

Police are still looking for his accomplice in the killing.
