A man was fatally shot outside the Woodside Houses NYCHA development this afternoon, the second fatal shooting to take place by the complex in less than a month.

The police said that a 30-year-old man was shot five times in the lower body at around 1:13 p.m. in front of 31-69 49th St.. The victim was transported to Elmhurst Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The victim’s name has yet to be released pending family notification and the police did not say what sparked the shooting or whether they had any suspects.

The incident follows the shooting death of Gudelia Vallinas, 37, who was killed by a stray bullet while she was walking near Woodside Houses on the evening of March 12.

She was killed when she got caught between two men who had an apparent altercation at the NYCHA complex. The incident spilled out on the street, and one of the men ran down Broadway firing several shots– with one bullet fatally striking her.

Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer and State Sen. Jessica Ramos, who both represent the development, issued a joint statement saying that “Woodside Houses is a good community with good people.”

The pair added that the “recent incidents of gun violence are completely unacceptable and have no place in Woodside or our city as a whole.”

Crime in our district is rampant. Our state senator Gianaris won’t acknowledge the situation, our legislators are looking the other way and people are getting hurt. We need term limits for all politicians.

out of touch JVB and Ramos. Woodside houses have been a haven for violent gangs for decades. Anyone who knows the neighborhood would say this. Quit acting like this is shocking. But it is easier to focus on bike lanes, community gardens, and a library that took 9 years to build. Keep voting Democrat!!!

A Brooklyn man was indicted by a Queens grand jury on charges of manslaughter, drunk driving and other crimes for a fatal collision in Astoria that killed his long-time girlfriend and mother of their young child in February.

Ray Perez, 27, of Caton Avenue in Flatbush, was arraigned Thursday in Queens Supreme Court on a 13-count indictment charging him with vehicular manslaughter for allegedly speeding through a stop sign in Astoria, colliding with another vehicle and slamming into two parked cars, and then driving nearly four miles away to a street in Maspeth before seeking help for his 29-year-old girlfriend Bridget Enriquez, who later succumbed to her injuries.
