Police are looking for a man who robbed a bank in Astoria last week.
The suspect walked into a Citibank, located at 22-16 31st St., at around 9:30 a.m. Thursday and handed a note to a teller demanding cash, police said.
The 26-year-old male teller complied and handed over approximately $600. The man ran with the cash northbound along 31st Street, according to police.
Surveillance video from the incident shows the suspect wearing a white hard hat–used for construction– and knee pads.
Anyone with information in regard to the identity of the suspect is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).

Some comments here point out that our criminal justice system is too lenient and does not deter violent crimes. China, on the other hand, has a very strict criminal justice system with mandatory death penalty for capital crimes, certain drug dealing offenses, and even financial crimes over a certain amount. The death penalties are usually carried out within a year; no endless appeals for decades. Yet, our pols constantly bash and denounce China for human rights violations. On the other hand, our soft revolving door criminal justice system is certainly more comfy and humane for the hardened criminals, but at the great expense of law abiding citizens who become future victims of repeat offenders.
Every crime is committed by them, yet they want equality and respect? These animal mobs that have been attacking innocent people, especially the woman in the liquor store, don’t tell me – they have been out in the sun too long? I’m not racist. I’ve never judged somebody by their race or religion. I judge people on their actions. My heart goes out to all of the innocent victims in this city who are being betrayed and attacked a second time by our circus justice system.
If he makes it in without setting the detectors off, then there’s no threat keeping you from saying no.
And what happened to the silent alarms??? Do those no longer exist?
Audacity of criminals is unbelievable. These are products of let-go judicial system.
