Bernie Sanders Pictured in Photos All Over Queens

Bernie Sanders LoFi Subway Ride (Twitter: @good)

Jan. 21, 2021 By Allie Griffin

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders was seen all over Queens yesterday.

A photo of the 79-year-old sitting in a folding chair at the inauguration of President Joseph Biden in D.C. on Wednesday quickly went viral.

Social media users edited the image of Sanders in a winter coat and patterned mittens into photos of famous scenes and locations across the country.

It wasn’t long until the meme of Sanders was photoshopped into various locations across the World’s Borough.

One user placed his image into a photo of the 46th Street station in Astoria. In the photo, Sanders sits next to a subway sign that was altered to read “46th Joe, 45th out” in honor of President Biden’s inauguration.

His image was cropped into another famed Queens location — the home of the Mets, Citi Field.

The cut-out of Sanders was also photoshopped onto the beloved 34th Avenue Open Street in Jackson Heights.

Local Queens businesses also participated in the trend as well.

Sanders was superimposed into a photo of the Good Neighbor Queens deli inside the Falchi building in Long Island City. In another photo edit, he was shown standing in line for a Greek food street cart in Astoria.

Two Queens breweries — Big aLICe Brewing in Long Island City and Queens Brewery in Ridgewood — also put their photo-editing skills to use and added Sanders’ image into their outdoor dining setups.

Perhaps the most iconic Queens rendition of the Sanders meme was done by QNS. The publication placed the senator in an image of the Unisphere at Flushing Meadows Corona Park.
