NYPD Harbor units pulled the body of a man–who was wrapped inside a garbage bag–from the East River in Astoria Monday morning, a spokesperson for the NYPD said.
Police were called to the waterfront near 30th Road and Vernon Boulevard around 11:15 a.m. after a 911 caller reported a body in the river. The man’s body was discovered inside a garbage bag, wrapped in a blanket and duct taped closed.
The unidentified man was pronounced dead by emergency responders after his body was brought to the Astoria Ferry Terminal, and the city’s medical examiner is working to determine the cause of death, according to police.

Further evidence that the 1970s are back. Thanks to the progressive Democrat leadership and their soft on crime policies, expect an uptick in this when eviction moratoriums are lifted and people are borrowing money they don’t have to keep a roof over their heads.
