A 26-year-old man was shot three times in front of a purported “party” building near the Astoria Houses NYCHA complex Saturday.

The victim, identified as Emmanuel Scott, was shot while standing outside 8-23 Astoria Blvd. at around 11:25 p.m., according to police. He was struck in the right ankle, right knee and buttocks.

Scott, according to cops, heard gunshots and then felt pain. He was transferred to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition and is expected to survive.

The NYPD recovered five shell casings at the scene.

The building is known for being a hotspot for private parties, according to the New York Post, despite the large exterior sign indicating that it is the home of the House of Prayer and Deliverance church.

Why is the NYPD even bothering with this? These are the same members of society that wants to defund cops. When they get shot in their own hood, let them find their own way to the hospital and “solve” their own crime in the communities. Cops need to devote time to law abiding citizens, not these perps. Notice the victim won’t give any evidence. Why waste the time?

Your assumption that ALL residents of Astoria Houses wants to defund the police is stupid, ridiculous, ignorant and inaccruate and could only be spoken like a defeated Trumper who does not know a single person like me – a black, police supporting resident of AstoriaHouses. We understand the majority of cops are good – its the handful who are bad who have made a mess of our society. The police improved AH during Bloomberg. We were grateful. Try coming down here and actually having a conversation with us. You might finally learn something.

Your assumption that I am a Trump supporter is just as ignorant and stupid. I am for my country first, witnessing the ruin of it and my hometown Astoria by Socialist clowns whose intentions toward minorities are not good either. They want to be the “ruling class”.

I’m glad you are law abiding and support the police. I hope you take generous amounts of time to mentor and instill those values in those around you.

Unfortunately that area of Astoria housing projects is a hot spot for violence. Too many illegal guns in the wrong hands. We need to respect each other and support lawenfocement to do their job without fear of public outcry and unruly protest. Yet again another young male shot in the confines of public housing and he claims he heard shots and felt pain. No witnesses. We hear this too often. Housing residents don’t squeal and police their own communities. Nothing new…….but this does not make communities safe.
