VIDEO: Enraged Man Get Outs of His Car and Attacks 69-Year-Old Woman in Astoria

The suspect (NYPD)

Oct. 16, 2020 By Michael Dorgan

Police are searching for a man who punched a 69-year-old woman in an apparent road-rage attack in Astoria earlier this month.

The man was sitting in his car outside 33-51 9th Street on Oct. 1 at around 4:50 p.m. when he got into a argument with the woman after she exited a separate vehicle.

The dispute escalated and the suspect got out of his car and threw an object at the woman, according to video footage released by police.

Police said the man then punched and pushed the woman causing her to fall to the ground.

He then got back into his car and fled the scene westbound along 34th Avenue, cops said.

The woman suffered pain and bruising but refused medical attention from responding EMS, police said.

The suspect is described as male and aged between 20 and 30 years of age.

Police released surveillance footage taken during the incident.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the CrimeStoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM, on Twitter @NYPDTips.

His plate should be clear on the camera, you can almost see it on this report. He’s a real tough guy, taking on a 69 year-old lady.

Good for you man. Wish I could do the same. Just don’t vote for Democrats or else the cancer will spread there. Already Austin is lost.

Tough lady having to defend herself against that lowlife. With progressive policies in place, dirtbags can assault people in broad daylight and get away scot free

You are wrong. No one has to endure bullying. Everybody should be able to protect himself/herself with means whatever necessary.

Op-Ed | Four years after Hurricane Ida, Queens deserves real climate resilience

Sep. 2, 2025 By Assembly Member Jessica González-Rojas

Four years ago, Hurricane Ida tore through our neighborhoods of East Elmhurst, Corona and Jackson Heights, leaving behind devastation we will never forget. We lost neighbors to the floodwaters. Families saw their homes destroyed, their basements wiped out, their lives upended. Immigrant families—so many of them undocumented—were hit the hardest, often excluded from relief altogether. Ida was not just a storm; it was a wake-up call.
