Police are searching for two suspects who allegedly stabbed a man multiple times outside the Queensbridge Houses development in Long Island City last month.

The two suspects, police said, were walking along a pathway outside 40-08 12th St., on July 1 at around 11:41 a.m. when one of the individuals bumped shoulders with a 33-year-old man.

The suspects got into a verbal dispute with the man before he attempted to run away from the pair.

The alleged perpetrators chased the victim down and stabbed him several times in the stomach, on his left shoulder, his left ribs and on his right ring finger, police said.

The two suspects then fled the scene on foot in an eastbound direction toward 21st Street.

The victim was removed to New York-Presbyterian Cornell Hospital in a stable condition, police said.

The first suspect is described as black, with a medium build and being around 6 feet 10 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a long-sleeved multicolored shirt, light-colored pants, light-colored sneakers and a black and white baseball cap.

The second suspect is also described as black and being of medium build. He is described as being between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall and was last seen wearing a white tank top, dark-colored shorts and a dark-colored baseball cap. He also wore black and white sneakers and glasses.

Police have released images of the suspects.

Anyone with information in regard to the identity of the suspects is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).

Op-Ed | Hochul: Action is Imperative on Shoplifting, but Violent Crime is Just Fine

Apr. 29, 2024 By Council Member James F. Gennaro

Negotiations regarding the New York State budget have just concluded a few days ago and a budget has passed after more than two weeks of delays. But while Gov. Kathy Hochul has proclaimed this year’s ‘bold agenda’ aims to make New York ‘safer,’ there hasn’t been so much as a whisper about the safety issue New Yorkers actually care about – New York States’s dangerous bail reform laws and the State’s absence of a ‘dangerousness standard,’ which would allow judges to detain without bail those defendants that pose a present a clear and present danger to our communities. (The 49 other states and the federal government have a dangerousness standard. NY State is the only state that lacks this essential protection from the State’s most dangerous offenders.)
