Two men were shot and injured inside the Astoria Houses NYCHA complex Sunday.

The victims, who were in the courtyard area at 4-10 27th Ave. at around 5 p.m., were caught completely unaware. They heard gunshots and then suddenly felt pain to their bodies, police said.

One victim, a 52-year-old, was shot in the back and the second victim, a black 49-year-old, was shot in the leg.

EMS arrived on the scene and transferred both men to a nearby hospital, police said.

The men’s injuries are not thought to be life-threatening, police said.

The victims told police they did not know who shot them.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing, police said.

The incident comes a week after the fatal stabbing of a 37-year-old man outside the NYCHA complex.

Romeo Bartley, who lived on 8th Street near the complex, was stabbed outside of 28-02 8th St.
