A doctor who pocketed millions by prescribing oxycodone to healthy patients through his two Queens medical clinics pleaded guilty to a federal drug-related crime Tuesday.
Dr. Emmanuel Lambrakis, 72, pleaded guilty to a charge of unlawfully distributing medically unnecessary oxycodone, according to the U.S. Attorney’s office in Manhattan.
His guilty plea came less than a week before his criminal trial was set to begin. It also comes more than 18 months after he pleaded guilty back in March 2018 to the charge before withdrawing his plea, according to U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman.
Lambrakis, according to court documents, operated two medical clinics in Queens—one at 32-76 31st St. in Astoria and the other on 175-61 Hillside Ave. in Jamaica– where he would see multiple patients at the same time in the same examination room. Each “patient” would pay him up to $250 in cash.
Lambrakis would perform simple tests – such as merely rotating the patient’s arm or leg — before prescribing them oxycodone, according to the U.S. Attorney’s office. He would frequently write upwards of 100 prescriptions for 30-milligram oxycodone pills in a single day. He made more than $2 million in cash from his “patients” from January 2011 to December 2016.
One 30-milligram tablet of oxycodone, according to officials, has a street value of $20 to $40 in New York City. A single prescription of 30 tablets can net an illicit distributor upwards of $2,400 in cash, according to Berman.
Officials said Lambrakis wrote thousands of oxycodone prescriptions during the five-year span. As a result, more than two million oxycodone tablets were distributed, carrying a street value in the tens of millions of dollars.
Lambrakis now faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. He’ll be sentenced on Feb. 7, 2020.

This Dr sucks now that I read this I had broken my back knee &etc and was PT for 4years and i asked different pharmacist what drs also my insurance they told me to go there so I went to him and he was sitting in the waiting rm with obviously just a bunch of junkies and legit issues myself or other had/have he said he doesn’t prescribe pain meds when knew he did but found a better DR and he would’ve made a lot more my insurance some charge 100,000 for a picture $800 a visit it’s insane I have insurance or I have&would’ve paid outta pocket along with others I know idk exactly what they needed I know he took on 1person I know who actually never needed them-he didn’t go through a windshield of car thankfully the friend driving just pulled outta a driveway only doing 40& I flew 50ft then 3wks later fell and literally the whole entire 10floor bldg heard it bc broke my back with already broken arms etc but again he claimed he didn’t get pain probably bc I didn’t look like a Junkie all others there did and I get it but wearing $2500 belt $650 sneakers everyday 4me yet was on pain meds for a decade still never looked like junkie look but this guys just sad if had just done it the legit way for actual pain patients I wouldn’t have had to go to a dr near there that made u take no less then 6diff kinds of pain meds guess he got a deal idk but I had to take 2 different dilaudids 4&8mgs percocets 10mgs oxycodone 15&30mg @
OxyContin 80mgs all up to 7 a day so he screwed me I wanted 1or 2 max for pain not all that &this dumb ass would’ve made more then chump change for me a small $2million and actually legit scripts from Astoria dr for pain management also pt 5days a wk for 4 yrs so I actually have special hate for this guy when turns legit people like myself down when my bones were crushed basically but hey found a different dr who was insane I may have had a high tolerance but didn’t want 1 and obv also an idiot bc should’ve had real patients like myself then did whatever he did idk idc but special kinda hate for him especially for what he did to me having deal a actual fraud dr who please I died 7xs from his meds fuck this guy ??♂️ 2million sad 1sidenof 1of my bldgs I own is worth more and only 1/2 of 1 of many residents I own what a jerk (btw dr move to Florida what u did here normal there and would’ve made 18xs that sick help actual junkies who just want them not actual pain patients or patient been off them but if had just not said I don’t do pain meds b4 even reading my chart where only would take 1 oxycodone 30mg few xs a day a Percocet 10 few a day not 6-8 different meds and idk range each ranged 6-9 a day why I died 7xs so like I said have a special hate for this dr… my dr back then has the plaques but a con man didn’t $500 cash plus insurance for idk scans etc but legit con man he is and u walk in I remember 100s of people appt at 9am be there till 5pm was insane bc this guy only did it for non pain needed straight junkies hope he rots after what he did to me
