Two men tried to rob a Walgreens in Astoria at gunpoint on Wednesday, police said.
The incident began around 3:30 a.m. inside the Walgreens located at 47-07 Broadway.
According to police, one of the men attempted to sneak out of the store’s back exit with two containers of laundry detergent but was confronted by an employee.
A second man then entered the store and threatened the employee while brandishing a gun. Police released a photo of this man as well as video.
The two men then fled down Broadway. Nothing was stolen from the store and there were no injuries, according to police.
Investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspects.
Anyone with information in regard to the identities of the males is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
