A holiday market is coming to Steinway Street next week that will showcase local vendors.

The Steinway Holiday Market, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 30 and Sunday, Dec. 1 from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., is being held at the Steinway Municipal Parking Lot #2, between 31st avenue and Broadway.

More than two dozen local vendors are expected both days, selling food, jewelry, pottery and crotchet items, among a slew of other homemade artisanal goods.

“We were looking for a way to promote the district and get the holiday shopping season started,” said Roxy Tico, program manager for the Central Astoria Local Development Coalition, a local nonprofit community organization that is running the event alongside the Steinway Astoria Partnership.

“We wanted to offer visitors local, unique gift ideas and a unique experience. We’ve never done this before,” Tico said.

Free entertainment, including holiday carolers, local children’s performance groups and other musicians will be on-site for guests to enjoy. Free face painting will also be offered.

Santa Claus will also be making an appearance and offering free photos for visitors on Saturday from 12 to 3 p.m.

A ribbon cutting ceremony will also be held Saturday morning to ring in the market.

Congratulations to the crooked Democrats who have completely destroyed a once vibrant neighborhood. Take a look at all the inner cities – anywhere in the U.S.- run by the Dems. From the feces-stained streets of San Francisco, to the daily murders in Chicago and the boarded up homes of Baltimore, the party of the “resistance” has decimated all that once looked beautiful.

Ok, is that related to this story somehow?

This is a story about A holiday market that will showcase local vendors. Where did the “blame the libruls” rant come from?

People on this page 1- tend to be republican/conservative, 2- hate bikers and bike lanes, 3- love cars and talking with dirty mouths.

In response to why I blame the leftists in Queens, let me tell you something. I was raised in this town. Know it inside and out. We used to have a vibrant retail district in that part of town. Now, business is dead there. Looks like a ghost town. Why? Because Socialists- yes that’s right I said it-like Costandinidis and Giannaris, have single-handedly destroyed businesses. It explains why business owners want to get the hell out of here and relocate to lower tax, business friendly environments. But hey, we get the vendors now. Nice. The Dems used to be logical and moderate but now, we have FAR-LEFT lunacy a la AOC. Good luck with that!

Not a boomer yet, just a local

And you’re a clueless newbie who thinks you know what you’re talking about.

As most of the stores along Steinway are vacant this is a weak attempt to make the area relevant during the holidays. Shame on clueless Costa who would rather sell solar panels to line his pockets instead of working with landlords to get tenants back into these vacant stores. The strip is looking blighted. Pathetic.
