A developer has filed plans with the Department of Buildings for an 8-story, 31-unit residential building on Broadway.
The building, which would be built on the vacant 7,500 square foot lot located at 14-41 Broadway, would be 80 feet tall and encompass 24,206 square feet.
The structure, currently located between another empty lot and a garage, would also feature a 10 spot enclosed parking garage, a cellar, and a 49-foot backyard.
Floodshields are also listed as part of the proposed plans for the residential building.
The property is located half a mile away from the Broadway N/Q subway station.
Records show that the owner of the plot, Steven Rigogiannis, bought the land in December 2010 for $1.6 million under the business name Plaza North 1031 LLC.
Construction will begin in about two months if the DOB signs off on the plans, according to architect Cherico King.

We need more doctor offices to accommodate the influx of new residents…build a large medical facility.
When is this mass buildings in Astoria going to STOP. Astoria was and is a great place to live and work in. Stop the overcrowding and leave some of the charm that the neighborhood has built over the last 60 years. Greed and profits have overshadowed our friendly community.
Have any permits been filed to build additional schools or buses to deal with the added density this neighborhood has seen over the last several years?
