A seven-story building is going up in Astoria and the developer Falcon Pacific Buildings has released its latest renderings.

The corner property, located at 28-16 21st Street, will feature 50 rental units, with 10 being designated as permanently affordable.

The building will contain 11,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor.

Saab Family LP, a local developer, is building the project, which is being designed by Matt Markowitz.

Amenity areas and common spaces will be located on the cellar level. There will be private space for residents and a rear-facing courtyard. The completion of the project is planned for Fall 2019.

The property had previously been occupied by a one-story furniture store called the Discount Outlet.

Hmm, what retailer could work in middle-of-nowhere 21st Street…. An Apple Store perhaps? Maybe a Nespresso Boutique. Oliver Peoples would be nice. How about a Dean & Deluca?
