Police Release Video of Burglar Who Targeted Residential Building Three Times

Police have released surveillance video of a man who stole thousands of dollars worth of jewelry, savings bonds and cash from three apartments in the same residential building over the last two months.

Police say that man first burglarized an apartment in the building, which is near 27th Street and 25th Road, on Sept. 5 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. The man took savings bonds, jewelry and $3,000 worth of cash and went off in an unknown direction.

The man went back to the building on Oct. 18 and broke into another apartment between 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. Police say that he apparently left without stealing any property.

The man returned to the building for the last time on Oct. 19 sometime between 9 a.m. and 6:30  p.m. He managed to get inside an apartment and made off with jewelry worth about $3,400.

Anyone else notice the increase in crime in the area since the “homeless” shelter – aka hotel on Astoria Blvd opened in the neighborhood??
