Amazon has signed a deal to open its first Queens distribution center in the former headquarters of the Bulova watch company in Woodside.

The e-commerce giant will use the space at 26-15 Boody St. for “last-mile delivery,” meaning it will be the final station before items are delivered to customers. The owner of the building, Terreno Realty Corporation, purchased it from Bulova Corporation for $25.71 million in March, according to city records.

Amanda Ip, a spokesperson for Amazon, confirmed that the company has signed a lease to open a delivery station in the building.

“We are excited to continue our investment in New York to speed up delivery times for customers and provide great job opportunities for the talented workforce,” Ip said in a statement.

Amazon plans to employ hundreds of full and part-time employees and contractors to work at the space. The contractors are expected to make between $18 and $25.

It is unclear when the company is expected to move into the Woodside building.

Amazon also signed a deal last year to open a distribution center in Staten Island, according to The Real Deal, which first reported on the Woodside distribution center.

A spokesperson from Terreno Realty Corporation did not respond to a request for comment by press time.

News of Amazon’s distribution center in Queens follows reports of the company recently re-visiting Long Island City and other finalist areas in its search for a second headquarters location, to be announced by the end of the year.

Long Island City was one of several locations outlined by the city in the bid it submitted to Amazon in 2017.

Maybe they can clean up the street. It’s disgusting. The T&LC are next door. All they do is empty their cabs full of trash on the street. Or maybe the city could make alternate side so a sweeper can clean up after them. Sad

Don’t get too excited bruh. Read about how left-wing darling Amazon treats its warehouse employees. You might reconsider.

There’s already a ton of traffic at the light on Boody St in the morning. This will not help. It’s also right next to a residential area. I don’t think this should have gone through due to the impact on quality of life right there.

This is not the main bulova building (the one with the fountain) they are taking over. They are taking another building that was owned bt bulova by the BQE and uhaul center.
