NYPD: 13-Year-Old Struck by Minivan Driver in Long Island City Hit-and-Run

Police are searching for the operator of a white minivan who drove off after hitting a 13-year-old boy in Long Island City last week.

Police say that the driver hit the child as he was walking into the street near 38-72 13th St. at around 8:15 a.m. on Oct. 10.

Emergency vehicles rushed to the scene and brought the boy to an area hospital, where he was treated for a broken ankle.

We need automated speed limit enforcement with dramatically punitive fines. Drivers here flaunt laws with no consequence.

If my kids ever get hit, I’m going to burn down the driver’s house with them inside.
