Suspect (NYPD) and Capital One (Google)

Oct. 4, 2018 By Tara Law

Police are searching for a man who robbed an Astoria Capital One Bank on Monday.

Police say that the robber approached a teller at the 31-17 Broadway bank at around 12:07 p.m. The man handed the teller a note demanding money, and the teller forked over an undetermined amount of cash.

The man then left the bank and took off east on Broadway.

Police describe the suspect as a white man who is between 5 feet 7 and 5 feet 9 inches tall and about 140 to 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing black sunglasses, a white tee-shirt, grey pants, a black backpack, and a black baseball cap emblazoned with an eagle on top of an American flag.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).

Too bad the cops are busy writing up tickets. Every where you look someone is pulled over while they can be doing their real job and protecting the public. These are the results of the city being money hungry amd not caring about their civilians.

Uh, if he’s white trash, that means he’s poor and resorting to theft by means of making ends meet. Therefore, there’s a good chance he’s from the projects. You’re the one associating the projects with a race.

Actually, it’s less about zero police presence and more about cheap bankers who no longer pay for guards. Banks are responsible for their own security, and because they cheap out, depositors and employees are put at risk.

Typical- You’re absolutely correct the projects lack diversity and don’t match the diverse makeup of the city. They need to be diversified.

2nd bank robbery on Broadway in the last month. With zero police presence the thieves are free to rob anyone and anything. Plenty of traffic agents writing tickets for expired meters though. It’s about priorities.
