Update: Ample Hills Creamery to Open Astoria Location this Friday at 4 p.m.

34-02 30th Ave.

June 19, 2018 By Tara Law (Updated 6/21)

Brooklyn-based ice cream shop Ample Hills has announced that its Astoria location will open this Friday at 4 p.m.

Ample Hills Creamery, which has gained a following for its zany flavors, will open its first Queens location at 34-02 30th Ave.

The shop will mark the occasion by introducing a special flavor, “Nectar of the Queens,” that honors Astoria’s Greek heritage. The flavor is made by blending honey cinnamon ice cream with baklava and galaktoboureko (custard pie with a filo crust) from Artopolis bakery.

Ample Hills’s Astoria location will also offer other poplar flavors, including “Ooey Gooey Butter Cake” (vanilla ice cream with St. Louis-style ooey gooey butter cake), “The Munchies” (pretzel ice cream with Ritz crackers, potato chips, pretzels and mini M&Ms) and “Peppermint Pattie” (peppermint ice cream with semi-sweet chocolate flakes and homemade dark chocolate peppermint patties).

The Astoria space offers seating for 25, and features a design with playful details such as a hand-titled floor spelling out “ice cream,” and a mural of a cow eating ice cream.

The location will be open Sunday to Thursday from noon to 11 p.m., and Fridays and Saturday from noon to midnight.

Ample Hills has six locations across Brooklyn and a seasonal ice cream shop at Rockaway Beach. The company also operates shops in Walt Disney World and Jersey City.

This Friday, Ample Hills will also offer free scoops of another new flavor, “20/20 the Scoop,” a collaboration between Ample Hills and the ABC show “20/20.” The flavor features marshmallow ice cream mixed with blue velvet cake chunks, while supplies last.

Sep. 2, 2025 By Assembly Member Jessica González-Rojas

Four years ago, Hurricane Ida tore through our neighborhoods of East Elmhurst, Corona and Jackson Heights, leaving behind devastation we will never forget. We lost neighbors to the floodwaters. Families saw their homes destroyed, their basements wiped out, their lives upended. Immigrant families—so many of them undocumented—were hit the hardest, often excluded from relief altogether. Ida was not just a storm; it was a wake-up call.
