NYPD: Thieves Steal Woman’s Purse at Dunkin’ Donuts on 48th Street

The police are looking for two suspects who stole a woman’s unattended purse inside Dunkin’ Donuts on 48th Street last month.

The police released photos yesterday of the suspects who allegedly grabbed the victim’s purse from her chair while she had stepped outside the 35-00 48th Street establishment at around 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 18.

The two suspects took the purse that contained $120 in cash and a debit card, police said.

The suspects are both female and Hispanic.

The first suspect was seen wearing glasses and was last seen wearing a colored jacket. The second suspect was last seen wearing a black and white hooded sweater, black pants and white sneakers, according to the NYPD.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).

Ok. It’s terrible that she got robbed but why would she live her bag unattended????

Yea..This is Astoria where you can no longer leave your stuff attended to perhaps get a napkin or a pack of sugar at a coffee shop.

There was a time (not too many yrs ago) when people left their doors unlocked during the day and parents let their children out to play in Astoria. It was also safe to leave your windows and garage doors open mostly becomes neighbors kept on eye on your home and children when they played outside. That is no longer the case.

Queens gun buyback takes 74 firearms off streets, including ghost guns and assault weapons: DA

Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced Monday that 74 firearms were taken off the streets at the Greater Allen A.M.E. Cathedral of New York in Jamaica during a gun buyback event on Saturday, June 14. The weapons were exchanged for bank cards pre-loaded with cash, with no identification required and no questions asked.

“Gun buybacks serve as a critical tool for reducing gun violence and promoting public safety within our communities,” Katz said. “This Saturday, working with the NYPD and clergy leaders in Jamaica, we received 74 surrendered guns — including five automatic weapons. As a result, these firearms will not be used to cause heartache and tragedy.”
