An urgent care medical center will open next to the Ditmars train station this spring.
CityMD, which has a network of 85 centers in New York/New Jersey and Seattle, is scheduled to open its eighth Queens location at 22-48 31st Street in late April or early May. This will be the company’s second Astoria location, with it opening a facility at 31-11 Steinway St. in 2013.
The centers provide services such as X-rays and orthopedic casting, and provide on-site testing for flu, strep throat, mono, UTIs and other diseases.
CityMD provides a wide variety of medical services and accepts most insurance plans, according to Sabrina Valvo, a spokesperson for the company.
The average wait time at the centers is eight minutes, Valvo said. Patients can check themselves in at kiosks in the waiting rooms.

The center will be staffed by five to eight employees, including X-ray technicians, medical assistants and a full-time board certified physician.
“CityMD is thrilled to be a part of the Ditmars community. We look forward to providing our new neighbors with high quality medical care and an exceptional experience, during the day, in the evenings, or on the weekends,” said Dr. Frank Illuzzi, CityMD’s chief medical officer.
The center will be open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Friday, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Is City MD opens for all time? How the payment accepted there?
Haha after you leave city md, might as well get your eyes checked out next door and then stumble into the new dental place opening up there too. When you’re all done… head on over to Marshall’s!
Yes! A city md is needed in the ditmars area. It comes in handy when your Dr isnt available to see you the same day and you need to see a Dr right away
These places are dangerous – they don’t have your health records
These are not meant for your regular care, but for emergency situations such as a cut, a broken bone, sprain, colds, flu, etc. ER’s do not have your medical records either, but would that stop you from going to one if you needed medical help? It is up to YOU as the patient to provide the healthcare professional with your medical history such as medications you are currently on, any pre-existing conditions, etc.
