A Brooklyn-based ice cream shop known for its whimsical flavors is opening a new location in Astoria.
Ample Hills Creamery will open at 34-02 30th Ave., according to a sign hanging on a construction fence at the location. Ample Hills ice cream is known for playful mix-ins such as pretzels and marshmallows. Construction on the shop is slated for completion this summer.
Many of the ingredients it uses— including brownies and peppermint patties— are made from scratch, and all ice cream is pasteurized on-site.
Popular flavors include “The Munchies”— ice cream mixed with pretzels, Ritz crackers, potato chips and mini M&Ms— and “Chocolate Milk & Cookies”— chocolate milk ice cream blended with Back to Nature creme cookies.
A representative from Ample Hills declined to go into more detail about the new location or the opening date in an email.
“We’ll make sure to keep you posted as soon as we have information to share,” he wrote.
Ample Hills has six locations across Brooklyn and a seasonal ice cream shop at Rockaway Beach. The company also operates shops in Walt Disney World and Jersey City.
The shops host ice cream making themed birthday parties and offers ice cream cakes.
