Police Search for Suspects Who Stole Mountain Bikes

The police are searching for suspects who entered into two Astoria residential buildings and then stole mountain bicycles.

On June 17, at about 7:40 am, the police said that the suspects gained entry into a residential building located in the vicinity of 35th Avenue and 30th Street, and removed a blue Cannondale mountain bike that was chained to a bicycle rack in the underground parking garage.

Then on June 26, at approximately 8:35 pm, the same suspects entered a residential building located in the vicinity of 30 Avenue and 37 Street and then forced open a door leading to a basement storage area and removed a Trek mountain bicycle.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.

A Brooklyn man was indicted by a Queens grand jury on charges of manslaughter, drunk driving and other crimes for a fatal collision in Astoria that killed his long-time girlfriend and mother of their young child in February.

Ray Perez, 27, of Caton Avenue in Flatbush, was arraigned Thursday in Queens Supreme Court on a 13-count indictment charging him with vehicular manslaughter for allegedly speeding through a stop sign in Astoria, colliding with another vehicle and slamming into two parked cars, and then driving nearly four miles away to a street in Maspeth before seeking help for his 29-year-old girlfriend Bridget Enriquez, who later succumbed to her injuries.
