Man Found Dead Under The Hell Gate Bridge on Randall’s Island: NYPD

A man believed to be homeless was found dead under the Hell Gate Bridge on Sunday and police think he froze to death, according to the NYPD.

The unidentified man, a white man apparently in his 40s, was found on Randall’s Island around 4:24 p.m. yesterday.

The man was pronounced dead on the scene by EMS.

There were no signs of trauma to the man’s body, and police believe he died of the freezing cold.

Temperatures dropped to a low of 15 degrees on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service. The wind-chill dropped to a low of minus 5 degrees.

There are so many homeless people around Ditmars. The city needs to do more and step in and protect them from danger.

This is heartbreaking. Such a horrible way to die, and all alone. May he rest in peace.
Wish this city had more monitoring of people during this cold weather. No excuse for this.
