NYPD: Man Shot Dead Near Ravenswood Houses in Broad Daylight Saturday

A 20-year-old man was shot and killed on a Long Island City street Saturday afternoon, according to police.

Police responded to a 911 call about an assault taking place near Ravenswood Houses at 36th Avenue and 14th Street at around 4:00 p.m., Dec.2.

Upon their arrival, they discovered a man unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to his torso.

The victim, identified as Jerrel Lewis of 12th Street, was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital where is was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.
