Police have arrested and charged a man in connection to a robbery that took place at the Citibank branch on Steinway Street last week.

Sergio Dasilva, 31, from Astoria, was arrested on Aug. 31 at around 9:00 am, and was charged with robbery, according to police.

The NYPD received notice on Aug. 24 of a robbery at the Citibank on 25-91 Steinway Street, where they say a man threatened three employees at the bank with a gun after jumping over security glass.

The robber fled the scene with an undetermined amount of cash, police say.

I’m on jury duty for this case right now! Hope I get picked so I can make sure this one doesn’t get off free.

This guy cannot be too bright. Seems like if you are going to rob a bank, do it in an area where no one knows you. No doubt he was caught because someone either recognized him in the video or he was caught on various bldg security cameras as he went home.

This is now all over the news because Sergio Da Silva is a MMA fighter. And he lived a block away from the bank in Astoria! Nice neighbors we have hahaha. Hate crimes, slavery monuments, robberies, assaults, and they keep coming.
