Man shot twice by the East River minutes before Macy’s fireworks kicked off

A 35-year-old man was seriously injured after being shot twice near the East River just minutes before Macy’s fireworks show kicked off last night.

According to a NYPD spokesman, the victim got into a dispute with the suspect at around 8:50 p.m. at 38-38 Vernon Blvd., before being shot in the torso and left leg.

The victim was taken to Cornell Medical Center and is now listed in stable condition. There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
