Owners of Sweet Afton to Open a Restaurant Near Ditmars station

May 4, 2014 By Michael Florio

The owners of Sweet Afton, the popular bar and restaurant located at 30-09 34th St, are opening another Astoria restaurant later this year.

The new eatery will be located near the Ditmars subway station, at 29-12 23rd Ave, according to a real estate expert who worked on the deal.

On Friday, a Sweet Afton manager confirmed the 23rd Avenue location, but stressed that the new restaurant will not be open for several months. The restaurant will operate under a different name and will have a different menu, the manager said.

The owners already have five bars and restaurants across New York and all of them are different, the manager said. He said the owners picked the 23rd Avenue location due to the vitality of the area.

“Astoria is a busy neighborhood that is growing every day and people still want more bars and restaurants,” the manager said.

The owners couldn’t be reached for comment.
