Man Bashes 3 Women with Hammer in their Apartment, Before Taking Off with iPad

An ex-con slipped through an apartment window in Astoria and bashed three females in the head with a hammer before taking off with a laptop Sunday morning.

Lawrence Parsons, 29, climbed into the apartment at the Marine Terrace Apartments, located at 20-24 21st Street, through a first-floor window, just before 3 am, police said.

He then struck all three victims in the head with a hammer, before leaving with a laptop, an iPad and a cell phone.

Police received a call to the location at 2:40 a.m. and after watching video and interviewing witnesses they determined a 29-year-old black male, who was an acquaintance of one of the victims was a suspect.

Parsons was arrested in Brooklyn on Tuesday, where police also recovered some of the stolen property.

He is charged with attempted murder two, two counts of robbery one and possession of stolen property.

Two victims, a 53 and 31 years old, were taken to Elmhurst Hospital with skull fractures and are now is stable condition. The third victim, 58, has been taken to New York Presbyterian Hospital with a skull fracture and is currently in critical condition.

Parsons, is an Astoria resident, with his last listed address being 20-33 Shore Blvd.

Astoria doctor sentenced to more than two decades in prison for rape and sexual abuse: DA

An Astoria doctor was sentenced to 24 years in prison on Thursday in Queens Supreme Court for raping unconscious acquaintances and sexually abusing hospital patients.

Dr. Zhi Alan Cheng, 35, of Broadway, pleaded guilty on June 30 to four counts of rape in the first degree and three counts of sexual abuse in the first degree in satisfaction of the consolidated indictments against him. He additionally entered an Alford plea to one count of sexual abuse. The defendant — a former gastroenterologist at New York-Presbyterian Queens Hospital — recorded the abuse of his unconscious victims with his cell phone in both his Astoria apartment and at the hospital.
