Avenue 24 Laundromat (Google)

The police arrested a man who attempted to rob a laundromat at gunpoint Friday morning.
The suspect, who has yet to be identified, was charged after entering “Avenue 24 Laundromat,” located at 27-03 24th Avenue, around 6:30 am seeking cash. He left empty handed and drove off in a white BMW.
A laundromat worker, however, quickly ran outside and managed to get the attention of two police officers, who put out a call on the vehicle.
The NYPD spotted the white BMW and attempted to pull it over. However, the man fled as officers were exiting their patrol car.
The BMW was abandoned a short while later on Crescent Street.
A man who fit the description of the suspect was picked up by the police walking on the block where the car had been abandoned. One of the robbery victims identified him.
The police also found a firearm in the bushes near where the suspect dumped his car.
Charges against the suspect are still pending.
