Site Selection and Acquisition to enable the relocation of Queens District 1 Sanitation Garage and Salt Shed from 21st Street and 35th Avenue to the Astoria Industrial Business Zone near Luyster Creek (Block 826, Lot 42 and part of Block 850, Lot 350).
As part of the City’s the Uniform Land Use Review Process (ULURP) Queens Community Board 1 will hold a public hearing on the above action at its regular monthly meeting. The acquisition request is made jointly by the NYC Department of Sanitation and Department of Design and Construction. If approved, the action will facilitate the future development of a new DSNY garage and salt shed.
The public is invited to speak after a presentation by the Applicants’ representatives. Public testimony will be limited to two minutes per speaker. The public hearing will be closed after testimony is complete and CB1Q will vote on a recommendation to the City Planning Commission during Committee Reports.
