A teenager was robbed by three men after he withdraw cash from an ATM inside a Ditmars Boulevard deli/grocery earlier this month, according to police.000
The 18-year man was thrown to the ground by three men outside A-Town deli/grocery, located at 24-20 Ditmars Boulevard, on Nov. 8 shortly before 3:00 pm. The three alleged perpetrators had watched the victim make the withdrawl inside A-Town and then followed him.
The suspects grabbed his wallet from his pants pocket, which contained a credit card, debit card and $1 in cash.
The victim, who was not injured, did not lose the cash he withdrew from the ATM, since he had placed it in another pocket.
Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.

A great example as to why we don’t need low income housing…Their families should lose their vouchers or be evicted from NYCHA for allowing their thug children to run wild. This behavior would change if it punishment was tied to the benefits given to these low income low performing losers, the very benefits provided by the very people they’re victimizing. Ungrateful loser scum.
I banged that one called Max. He bottoms if you’re “generous”. The others work as well but Max is the only one worth tossing a few bucks his way. That’s why these low life hustlers hangout on this corner. They must have gotten desperate for cash because their decrepit client base were out of town for the holiday.
I heard this corner is known for power bottoms.
It’s okay rack up a few misdemeanors and you’ll eventually sit in front of a judge who sees these kids for what they are. They belong in jail.

According to criminologists, sociologists, psychologist and agencies and industries who work and deal with criminals; criminal behavior tends to progress, escalate from bad to worse. Statistics below from crime in America and American criminal psychology :
77 percent of felony defendants have at least one prior arrest and 69 percent have multiple prior arrests. 61 percent have at least one conviction and 49 percent have multiple convictions.
35 percent of those charged with felonies have 10 or more prior arrests and another 17 percent have between 5 to 9 arrests, thus 52 percent of charged felons have been arrested and before the courts many times.
40 percent of those charged with burglary and motor vehicle theft have 10 or more arrests. 30 percent of violent offenders have 10 or more prior arrests.

Is he blonde? I had a kid ring my bell one day (early evening) and he was with some other kids. Said that one of his friends (who supposedly had run away) threw his sneaker onto my roof. I don’t have access to the roof through the house and can only get up there by ladder so I told him to come back the next day. He didn’t. This was during the summer. About 2 weeks ago we had someone doing work on the roof and there was a sneaker up there. I am wondering and I have to admit was suspicious, that this wasn’t done on purpose to gain access to my house and scope it out. I didn’t even let them see inside my front hall.

Based on this incident and not knowing of any other common occurrences at this location, it is 3 teens being unruly and robbing another teen. As for the the store and corner location is concerned, I lived near this area for over 10 years and by choice have only shopped there once so i can understand the issues some have raised. I do not like the crowd that gathers on that corner either.
Not surprised at all! I am pretty sure the store provides the teens that hang out there with rolling paper and cigarettes. There have been plenty of times that i have passed by this place on the way to the park saw teens and smelled the weed. I also have seen cars randomly stopping at the corner and teens going up to the cars (always looked fishy to me). It is for this reason I do not shop at this deli and tend to walk a little faster by this place. And yes most of the times the teens do not look like attend the nearby H.S. or live on that block.

I always see groups of teens hanging out outside of this store and always felt uneasy! However lately, because of everything that has been happening against profiling I put my natural instincts aside and feel as if i am being prejudice if I cross the street or cling to my purse. I am not saying you should be afraid of every person you do not recognize or dresses a certain way..what i am saying is trust your instincts and be wary of your surrounding day or night! And yes there are times you can tell if someone is up to no good based on their behavior and your instincts.
Maybe they are cooperating with the police and are snitching on the others. Either way good riddens. Maybe the NYPD will do something about that store and the kids that stand just outside of it. It is in an obvious area where drugs are sold in the open.
The people who work in the store HAVE called the police on these idiots many times and get NO WHERE. They try to talk to these guys and get them away from the store but they also do not want to get them pissed off because of the fear they will retaliate. Instead of judging the store, why don’t YOU call the cops next time. I know that I have and nothing gets done! If they stand on the side street by the store, the workers in the store can’t do a damn thing about it since they are not in the store. Why do you think they have the surveillance cameras now? My God people, stop being so judgmental about the store and actually do something for the neighborhood.
Here’s the thing; don’t waste the police’s time –without facts. Get your facts down pact before calling the police. Have they ever harrassed people? Do they play loud music? Are they shouting at people as they walk by or giving people a hard time entering the store, etc. Question the store owner during a regular purchase; let him know you’ve noticed; maybe he’s scared to retailate or ask for help. Whisper and let him know if he wants help you’ll call the police whenever he’s ready citing loitering and noise pollution. Slip him your phone no. Question the neighbors of yours (we all have them) that notice everything; the busybodies of the world. Quietly ban together.

These punks hang out on the corner of Ditmars Blvd and Crescent Street in front or the side of the bodega. They live in the low housing income area between 21st Avenue and 20th Avenue by Astoria park. The neighborhood will be happy to see them in jail.

These rocket scientists hang out on the corner of Ditmars and Crescent Street all the time. The one with the Bulls jacket on doesn’t wear glasses and normally doesn’t wear a hat. The live on 21st Ave area by the park. You can often find them walking on 23rd St to Ditmars Blvd as they make there way to the Bodega on the corner of Crescent Street and Ditmars.

Not surprised by this. I live around the corner and this store has a bunch of sketchy kids hanging around all day and night long. Cops should keep a closer eye on this store and the owner who allows these kids to loiter.
The owner is back after a lengthy time away and is dealing with the fools who thought it was their own personal hangout. You should learn who the owner actually is before you type such crap. I too live near the store and have seen what you saw, but unlike you, I get the facts.
